Implausible: GameBoy Emulator Running on NeoGeo Pocket Color?

BLOOD!
To be honest, I’m not real big on the VirtualBoy-O-Vision

Take this with a heaping amount of (red) salt:

NGPCGB is a Gameboy/Gameboy Color emulator for the Neo Geo Pocket Color.

This started as a project to see if the NGPC would be fast enough to emulate another system…surprisingly, it almost was. The screenshots show how far along the emulator is, however the project has been put on indefinite hold due to SNK dropping support for the system in the US. After emulation was completed, hardware was going to be developed to allow the use of real Gameboy cartridges instead of dealing with ROM images and the legalities they entail.

So, yeah, um, it’s in red (cause we all know the NGPC couldn’t do B&W…wait…no)…and there are no actual shots of gameplay…no video…and no code, but I guess it’s possible?

Any technically-inclined types wanna weigh in on whether this is even feasible? (And by “feasible” I mean running at or near full speed.)
